I make what I love to hold in my hands

My name is Iwona, and I've been knitting and crocheting for years. It started quite simply – with one shawl for myself, because none in the shops came in the colours I was looking for. Then came a second one, for my daughter. Then someone asked if I'd make something to order.

Today, that has grown into bags, shawls, hats and other lovely things. I make every piece myself from start to finish – one pair of hands, no machines, no rush. That's why no two are the same, and why there are never many of them: each one is unique.

I choose yarns that “age well”: cotton cord, natural fibres, colours taken from the earth and from plants rather than from a colour chart. A handmade piece should last for years, not just one season.

I don't run a factory, and I don't pretend to. This is the work of one person who loves what she does – and would rather make less, but make it well.

Materials

Cotton cord for the bags, natural yarns for the shawls and hats. I buy less, but better – materials that still look like yarn years later, not like plastic.

Pace

A bag takes a few evenings; a shawl can take longer. I state the making time for every item on its product page – and I stick to it, rather than promising the impossible.

A different colour

I can also make selected products from the shop in other colourways. If you'd like a different colour, please message me before placing your order – I'll check whether the right yarn is available and whether the item can be made.
