Description
A bag for shopping, the beach and whole days out. I crochet it from cotton cord in a stitch that forms vertical stripes, with openwork panels along the sides.
The base and body hold their shape so well that the bag stands up on its own when you set it down. The tote is unlined, so it's light and easy to clean. Small items such as keys or lipstick are best kept in a little pouch so they don't slip through the stitches.
The two handles are long enough to sling the bag over your shoulder even when you're wearing a jacket. Ecru goes with everything and doesn't get dirty as quickly as the light shade suggests.
Care
Spot-clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not machine wash – the cord will lose its springiness. Dry flat, stuffed with paper.
